The APKD Kidney Promise
The APKD Kidney Promise provides protection to EVERY living kidney donor who donates a kidney through the Alliance for Paired
Kidney Donation (APKD). The APKD Kidney Promise protects you in the extremely unlikely event that you need a kidney transplant in
the future. Should you, at any point in the future, need a kidney transplant, the APKD will work with our transplant partners to prioritize you for a living donor kidney.
The APKD KidneyPledge™
The APKD KidneyPledge provides protection to a nondirected living kidney donor who donates a kidney through the Alliance for Paired Kidney Donation (APKD). The APKD KidneyPledge™ is offered in three levels: Family, Friend, and Advance (designated person). The KidneyPledge protects you should a friend or member of your immediate family need a kidney transplant in the future. The Advance KidneyPledge™ allows you to name a specific individual with kidney disease who will likely need a kidney in the future.
Using your Kidney Pledge: The APKD KidneyPledge™ entitles you to donate your kidney on behalf of a family member or friend. Your family, friend or designated individual will receive priority above other candidates. For your family, friend, or designated individual to redeem their KidneyPledge they must be approved for a kidney transplant by an APKD-participating transplant program and activated in the APKD. All Advance Donation KidneyPledges require written prior approval by the APKD.
Lost Wage Reimbursement
DonorProtect® replaces any income lost due to time off work while a donor recovers.
- Covers up to $2,500 per week
- Covers up to 4 weeks of missed work
